Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard, where a large cider factory is located, began its activity in 1856. Hosea Williams became the first owner of a factory and mill that processed corn and wheat. It was he who first began to use the fruits of local trees to make cider. The second owner was Linn Kane, who continued to make hard cider until the 1950s. However, he was forced to close the factory due to high competition. Later on, Charlie and Barbara Michaels actively developed the farm and made it a favorite place for townspeople and tourists, and their son Bill inherited the business.

An orchard and cider factory is located just minutes from Cooperstown. The recipes for the local cider have been handed down from generation to generation, and because of this, its taste has remained consistently excellent for many years. The farm also produces more than 150 brand products, such as salad dressings, various types of cheeses, jams, spicy sauces and delicate creamy fudge.
